Position: Contact Station Attendants
Type / Term: Part-time / Seasonal
The Wrightsville Beach Recreation District is currently seeking Park Attendants to staff the Beach Contact Station. Incumbents will work under general supervision of the park manager. Hours will be based on the Park’s operating schedule. Schedules will include both weekend and late evening work. The Job will be from approximately May 22nd – Labor Day or Columbus Day.
                                               
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
• _Friendly, outgoing, reliable and punctual
• _Professional appearance and attitude at all times
• _Knowledge of basic math; ability to handle money with accuracy; handle patronage statistics; ability to use Internet based Point of Sales Application on an electronic tablet
• _Requires good oral communications; capacity to understand and follow oral and written orders
• _Ability to provide a great customer experience; answer customer inquiries; handle high volume periods; and to stay busy and alert during slow periods
• _Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and customers
                                
Duties and Responsibilities:
• _ Park Entrance. Attendants are responsible for opening and closing the Park’s front gate; assisting customers; selling season passes; collection of day use fees
• _ Rentals. Attendants are responsible for cleaning all rental equipment; renting of boats & assisting with proper fitting of PFD’s; rental of Disc Golf gear
• _ Retail Sales; Attendants are responsible for retail sales of Disc Golf gear, and recording those transactions; snack sales
• _Park Grounds Daily. Attendants are responsible for regular trash pick up; goose poop pick up; weeding; cleaning of barbeque grills; cleaning of picnic tables; cleaning of picnic shelters; within the area of the main parking area to the water by the beach; and other light duties as assigned
•  Park Bathrooms. Attendants are responsible for the regular removal of trash; sweeping & mopping; seat cleaning; replacement of toilet paper and air fresheners
•    Park Grounds Occasional. Use of tractor to rake the beach; painting of picnic tables; building painting (below ladder height; manual trail raking; and other duties as assigned if they’re 18 years or more then they will perform occasional lawn mowing; and other light duties as assigned
• _       Park Grounds. Senior Citizen work. Seniors will only do “Park Grounds Occasional” work if they are physically able to do so, and want to do so. It will not be required of them
                           
Requirements
• _Must be 15 years of age or older; graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent preferred
• _Applicants under 18 must be able to provide written permission from a parent or legal guardian
• _Applicants 18 years or older may be subject to a criminal background check
 
Starting Pay is $10.55 per hour. Exemplary performance reviews may warrant pay increase during the season

Position: Junior Park Ranger
Type / Term: Full-time / Seasonal
The Wrightsville Beach Recreation District is currently seeking Junior Park Ranger to perform multiple tasks to assist with many aspects of Park operations. The Incumbent will work under general supervision of the Park Manager and will perform duties including but not limited to: contact station; grounds work; event planning; staff scheduling; event coordination. Hours will be based on the Park’s operating schedule. Schedules will include both weekend and late evening work.
This is a great opportunity for someone interested in working in Parks & Recreation to get hands-on experience, and to gain an understanding of Park operations. If you enjoy working with the public, and want to have a fulfilling work experience this summer, please apply for this position.

• _ Equipment use. May drive the truck within Park grounds and beyond them to make trash & recycling trips; to get park supplies including park gas cans; will use hand saws; and assist the manager when the manager uses a chainsaw
• _Planning & Events. Will work with the Park Manager on planning and managing events
• _Development. Will work with the Park Manager on Park Development plans for future years
 
Requirements
• _Must be 18 years of age or older; graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent preferred
• _Applicants under the age of 18 must be able to provide written permission from a parent or legal guardian
• _Applicants the age of 18 years or older may be subject to a criminal background check
• _Ideal Candidate will be pursuing a Major and or a career in Park & Recreation
